Clemson to be ranked in top ten for first time since preseason 2008. With a decisive 23-3 victory on the road at Virginia Tech, Clemson will move into the national top ten when the polls are released later today. At 5-0, and with wins over three solid teams in Auburn, Florida State and Virginia Tech, there are but a couple of teams in the country with resumes better than the Tigers.

While the Tiger offense has been the talk of the media, it was the defense on this night that led the way. Andre Branch had three sacks and five tackles for loss as the Tiger defense held VT to just three points. Kevin Steele at defensive coordinator is one of the best in the business, and in this game he showed that even with freshman linebackers, he can get it done.

QB Tajh Boyd didn't have the greatest game of his career, but he still led his team to victory. Though he had a couple of turnovers, he guided the Tigers to 23 points on 13 of 32 for 204 yards. His 32-yard pass to tight end Dwayne Allen was a thing of beauty.

Running back Mike Bellamy put the icing on the cake with a 31-yard TD run late in the 4th quarter. He averaged 7.8 yards per carry on six carries.

Tiger fans should enjoy these days. It has been years and years since a top ten ranking was deserved. The ranking CU fans will see later today - no matter how high - is deserved.
