Duck students worst fans in the country? I beg to differ.

10.31.13 - Posted By: Timothy Thompson - Eugene, OR

In case you fans did not know, Oregon Duck fans, more specifically the students, have been under verbal attack and harsh accusations the past few days. Oregon just finished a great game that turned into a blowout against #12 UCLA last Saturday. The crowd was the loudest and most passionate it has been in a while, and I personally was very impressed with my fellow students in the rowdy student section. HOWEVER, two days later, a former Oregon player anonymously sent a letter complaining about Oregon fans, saying that he is disgusted with the way they are.

Oregon vs Washington: The Forgotten Rivalry

10.09.13 - Posted By: Timothy Thompson - Eugene, OR

The Oregon/Washington rivalry is a rivalry that has been dead for nearly a decade. Why..? Because Oregon has dominated.

While Washington holds the all-time series 58-42, Oregon has won the past nine meetings between the teams. And they haven't just been wins. They've been blowouts.

Ever since 2004, the Ducks have beaten the Huskies every year, with the smallest margin of victory coming in 2011 when Oregon won 34-17. Thus, a 17 point victory. However, in these nine games Oregon has outscored Washington 391-158. That means Oregon has won by an average margin of 26 points.....

Number One!

Auburn 22, Oregon 19 - Auburn wins national championship. It was a fitting ending for the Tigers of Auburn. In a close win, Wes Byrum - a kicker who has had a stellar career for War Eagle - blasted through a 19-yard field goal as time expired in his final college kick, and will leave town with a national championship. In a colorful game featuring neon green socks, bright yellow pon-poms, silver helmets and huge masses of orange, this was another instant classic, game-for-the-ages. In dramatic fashion, the Tigers did what they did all year long: found a way to win.

Ten Things from Week Eleven

11.16.10 - Posted By: Brett Haynes - Greenville, SC

Filling in for Wes again this week (poor guy is deep into his studies right now), we will look at ten things that caught my eye from the college football weekend....

1. Wisconsin throws down 83! I have always kind of liked the Badgers. I think it is because they seem to play an old-school style of play where you just line up and go at it. Well, that old-school style went out the window Saturday as Wisconsin racked up 598 total yards (really not all that much considering 83 points) and threw for four touchdowns in a thrashing of Indiana. Six different running backs got carries, and eight different receivers got receptions. Throw in a pick-six for a score and a kicker that was 2 for 2 on field goals and 11 for 11 on extra points, and that is what you call a good day!

Week Two Predictions

09.09.10 - Posted By: Brett Haynes - Greenville, SC

Last week I went 14-1 in our Pick'em Contest. In order to keep that kind of record going this week I will have to think hard and dig deep. In my opinion, this week's games are much trickier and harder to pick than those of the opening weekend. Some folks are calling this the biggest weekend of college football in years, with as many as six big-time, nationally important high-profile games set to go down. Yes, if you love college football, week two of the 2010 season is what it's all about! Here are my predictions for this week's games.
